THE Vue cinema at Cheshire Oaks is to stage an exclusive screening from the Glyndebourne Festival of Verdi’s opera Falstaff.
Falstaff continues Vue’s 2010 season of classical performances and will be followed by a further nine screenings of some of the UK’s favourite operas, ballets and theatre productions throughout the year.
The screenings, taking place at 2pm on Monday, March 22 and 6.15pm on Tuesday, March 23, will give audiences the chance to watch a star cast as they perform Verdi’s last opera, a reworking of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.
The performance was recorded last year at the Glyndebourne Festival, a festival of opera held annually in East Sussex, and is the third classical performance to be screened at Vue cinemas in 2010.
Following the popularity of last year’s exclusive classical screenings at Vue, this year sees a broader and more impressive schedule to include some of the world’s best known productions, including Loves Labours Lost, La Bohème and Swan Lake.
