As much as we love going to the cinema, it can end up being an expensive day out with the average film costing more than £10 a ticket.

But thanks to an impressive price reduction at Vue Cinemas, who are now charging just £4.99 per film, it's going to cost us substantially less.

Cheshire Oaks is among 22 UK cinemas participating in the Every Film Every Day offer, which applies to all 2D films in a standard seat.

However, additional charges may apply for IMAX films, 3D screenings and VIP seating upgrades and there is a 75p booking fee for online and telephone bookings.

A Vue spokesperson confirmed the offer which is currently valid until further notice.

The Vue discounts follow in the wake of membership card schemes run by rival cinema chains Cineworld and Odeon which allow customers unlimited visits for a monthly fee of almost £18.
