HALTON volunteers have had another year of tireless hard work recognised with a boat trip along the canal.

Halton Volunteer Centre organised the outing, from Preston Brook to Walton Gardens, to thank the group for their efforts over the last 12 months.

While aboard the canal boat, kindly provided by the Canal Boat Project, volunteers were treated to refreshments, bingo and raffles.

The excursion took place during Volunteer Week, which is held every year from June 1-7. The week aims to promote and raise awareness of the work that volunteers do, and also thank the 22 million people across the UK who give their time to volunteering.
