SUPPORTERS of a Chester charity raised a glass and funds at a black tie ball at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel.

Guests at the Vision Support ball enjoyed a three-course dinner before digging deep to raise cash for people with sight loss through a raffle and an auction.

Fundraising officer Jane Arends said: “We are still adding up the money raised but it was an excellent night. Ball gowns were sponsored by Belles of Chester and Mike James of Dee 106.3 radio was DJ. Casablanca Steps jazz band provided some great entertainment and Miss Cheshire Catriona Cameron was in attendance.”

The ball was attended by Sir William Bromley-Davenport who retired as Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire at midnight on the night of the ball.

The charity, which was founded in 1876, offers support to people with sight loss in Cheshire and North Wales.
