TICKETS are now on sale for the 2012 Chester Summer Music Festival.

The festival starts on Saturday, June 30, and is a two-week musical extravaganza with something for everyone.

Chester’s most beautiful venues will showcase what artistic director Andrew Cornall calls ‘an explosion of talent from around the globe’.

“It’s a total immersion for the musical spirits, a gourmet experience for the musical taste buds and its all served up in the glorious historic city of Chester,” he said.

For two weeks the packed programme celebrates an exciting range of music, ideas and extraordinary artistic talent.

The first weekend of the festival starts with the Big Sing where people on the streets of Chester will come together as one voice.

Chester Summer Music Festival will introduce international talent to the city and must-buy tickets come in the form of Tine Thing Helseth Quintet, Yijie Shi, Arthur Jeffes, Vilde Frang, Gallicantus, Cries of London and our own Chester Festival Concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vasily Petrenko

Let’s Hear It! is an exciting innovation for 2012 and is a festival within a festival.

Mr Cornall has managed to squeeze a weekend programme of non-stop concerts in the middle of the festival (July 6-8) designed for music lovers, casual listeners and the curious with bite-size to full length concerts.

Listen at Lunch will once again provide the opportunity to do something unique and cultured during your lunch break. The concerts are performed in St Mary’s Centre starting at 1pm but sandwiches, tea and cake will be served from noon.

For the first time ever, there will be the opportunity for anyone 25 or under to come to any evening concert for just £5.

For those over 25 the price for tickets has been kept low, ranging from £9-£26 to suit all budgets.
