A CHILLING video shows a dangerous driver swerving across the road for miles, then smashing into a pregnant woman’s car.

Tony Perks, 25, of Tarporley, admitted dangerous driving after seeing the video, which was filmed by shocked motorists Chris Hall and Marc Willis as they followed him on the A51 from Chester to Duddon.

They decided to film Perks after seeing him plough across Tarvin roundabout.

His Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck took out the roundabout signs, leaving the bumper behind.

The footage, shot by passenger Chris shows Perks:

Drive on the wrong side of the road as he comes off the verge at Tarvin roundabout.

Swerve across both lanes on the A51 between Tarvin roundabout and Duddon, narrowly missing oncoming cars, school bus and HGV.

Narrowly miss running into the back of another car at traffic lights.

Cross the path of a VW Golf at Duddon, making the eight-months pregnant driver swerve in an attempt to avoid him, but then ramming her side-on.

In May, a judge disqualified Perks from driving for 12 months and if he drives during that time, he will be imprisoned for four months.

He must carry out 250 hours unpaid work and was ordered to pay £120 costs, £100 compensation and take an extended driving test.

Police only released the video footage this week.

PC Joe Poole of Dragonhall Police Station investigated the case and praised Marc and Chris for their actions.

He said: “Video evidence paints a far better picture than just a verbal witness account. When Perks and his solicitor saw the footage, I don’t think there was anything they could say about it to explain his actions.”
