TWO Chester parents have launched a new website to encourage family cycling.

Husband and wife team Chris Jones and Karen Gee, of Upton, have launched Cycle Sprog – www.cyclesprog.co.uk – aimed at parents who are interested in starting cycling with their families.

The couple, who have two sons Nicholas, six and Tristan, three, have more than five years experience of cycling with their boys, during which time have used front and rear bike seats, trailers, tagalongs and tow bars.

Karen said: “Parents often tell us that they’d like to cycle with their children while they’re young, but are apprehensive and don’t know where to start.

“We’ve launched Cycle Sprog to help provide the information parents need, and offer advice to support them as they enjoy their first rides.”

Timed to coincide with Bike Week (June 16-24), Cycle Sprog has been written by parents, for parents, focusing on practicalities. The site provides an overview of the different types of equipment available, including details of makes and models and where to buy them, and giving useful hints and tips to make the experience safe and enjoyable.
