A young swimmer from Chester swam the length of a lake to raise more than £800 for a children’s charity.

Sasha Ravetz, 12, a pupil at Upton-by-Chester High School and a member of the City of Chester Triathlon Club, swam the length of Ullswater from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge to raise money for the NSPCC.

She swam the13km over five consecutive days, averaging 2.6km a day and starting each day from where she exited the water the previous day.

She was helped by all her family with support from The Glenridding Sailing Centre, The Outward Bound Trust and Ullswater Marine.
