UPTON High School closed for the day on Friday (December 3) due to heating problems caused by broken boilers.
All children are being sent home due to heating problems caused by broken boilers in both A and B blocks.
The school has postponed its Christmas Fair - which was due to take place on Friday evening - and it is hoped this will be rescheduled soon.
Cheshire West and Chester Council spokesperson Laura Johnson said: “ All the sixth formers in the school were allowed to go home straight away. All the other children were gathered in two of the school halls while staff members contacted parents and carers to let them know what was happening.
“School buses have been arriving at the school to take children home, and there are now only a small group of pupils remaining at the school waiting for relatives to come and collect them.”
Miss Johnson added: “We are not yet sure of what the problems are so do not know whether the school will be able to open on Monday.”
“We would encourage all parents to keep an eye on the school website and listen to local radio stations to find out the latest information.”
