A CHESTER songstress is hoping her band is set for the big time after being booked for the biggest summer festivals.

Jen Davies aged 23, from Upton is the lead singer of electro-pop band Soft Toy Emergency which is set to take the music scene by storm this summer.

They are already booked to play at Glastonbury and Staffordshire’s V festival, as well as festivals on the Isle of Wight, and at Liverpool’s Sound City

Jen met her band mates Luciano Rossi, George Sharpe, Andy Willers and Will Blackaby whilst studying music at Liverpool University. The band is based in Liverpool, but Jen says she still comes home regularly to Chester to visit her parents and friends.

She said: “It is just amazing we have been so busy. We have been travelling up and down the country and have a packed summer to look forward to.

“We were over the moon when we were asked to play at Glastonbury, we are really, really excited.”

The band has already had their music used for both Topshop and Nike advertisements, and have built up a strong fan base in Liverpool.

Jen said: “We had a sold out gig at the Barfly in Liverpool last week, we love our fans they really do support us.”

Jen said that despite all of them her Dad is still her biggest fan, and he tells everybody at home about the band.
