A UNIVERSITY of Chester drama student is delighted at the prospect of treading the boards in an upcoming production of Oklahoma!

Sarra Elliott, 20, will be playing the role of Ado Annie in the Dee and Alyn Gilbert and Sullivan Society production, to be staged in Mold’s Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

She said: “I am so excited at being given the opportunity to take on such a terrific part in such an exceptionally lively and colourful production.

“Oklahoma! has been a favourite with theatre audiences for many years and I’m sure the decision by Dee and Alyn to do something different to Gilbert and Sullivan will be a big hit with local audiences.

“The whole cast has been extremely supportive and helpful and it is such an enjoyable experience for me.”

Sarra, from Loughborough, has one more year to go on her drama and theatre studies degree.

Oklahoma! is at the theatre from Tuesday, June 9 to Saturday, June 13, at 7.30pm each night with a Saturday matinee at 2pm.

Tickets are £15 for adults, concessions £13, and £10 for the Saturday matinee. Tickets for children and students cost £8. To book, call 01352 755114.
