Chester residents will have the chance to question candidates standing in the General Election at a hustings taking place at the University of Chester tomorrow evening.

BBC North West Tonight presenter Annabelle Tiffin will chair the proceedings which will feature Stephen Mosley MP (Cons), Chris Matheson (Lab), Stephen Ingram (Ukip) and Bob Thompson (Lib Dems).

Hosted by Chester Students’ Union and its political societies, the four candidates will discuss policies and take part in a debate from 7.30-9.30pm on Thursday, March 19 in room 011 in the Binks Building on the Parkgate Road Campus. The audience will be invited to submit questions on the night.

Organisers students Rachel Copley and Luke Thompson said: “We feel privileged to have all four candidates debating at the university, as this is going to be the biggest debate in Chester in the run up to the General Election on May 7.

“This is going to be a great opportunity for local residents to put their questions forward to the candidates, as well as being able to add any comments to the debate.”

Public, staff and students are invited to attend.
