THE new academic year at the University of Chester is off to a strong start as the institution continues its climb up national league tables – and its most recent achievement is all thanks to student feedback.

Results in the latest National Student Survey (NSS) show that 86% of students are satisfied with their overall university experience, above the national average.

This is the highest score the university has achieved since the survey was launched in 2005.

The institution has improved overall in all aspects of the NSS on a national level, but has performed especially well in the North West, finding itself within the top 10 across the board.

Professor Tim Wheeler, the university’s vice chancellor, said: “Our results in this year’s National Student Survey are wonderful news for our current and prospective students.

“It is especially gratifying to see we continue to make improvements in teaching, assessment and academic support. These areas demonstrate how hard our staff are working to make sure our undergraduates enjoy the best possible student experience at the University of Chester.”
