Delays at the Two Mills junction in Ledsham have run into a third day as temporary traffic lights remain in place.
Commuters are again facing queues at the meeting of the Welsh Road, the A550, and Parkgate Road, the A540, on Thursday (January 28).
The main signals were damaged in a crash at the junction on January 25.
Temporary lights in place while repairs are made are only allowing traffic to flow in one direction at a time.
Long queues have formed each day on the Welsh Road northbound towards Wirral, with drivers facing hour-long waits after coming off the A494.
Morning congestion has also built up on the A540 for those heading for Chester.
