TWO wards at the Countess of Chester Hospital were closed for nearly a week after and outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea.

Six patents on wards 45 and 51 a medical ward and surgery ward were effected by the outbreak which meant they had to be closed to all visitors to prevent the spread of the illness.

The wards were closed to visitors on Friday, April 3 and were reopened today (Thursday, April 9).

Medics immediately put control measures in place to prevent the spread of the illness.

In October ward 42 had to be closed due to the illness and in August ward 51 was closed after patients exhibited symptoms.
