TWO Chester teens hope to make it big in the MTV cult programme Living on the Edge.
Josh Whitehouse and Fran Lisowski, both 18, star in the docu-soap alongside other teenagers and the programme follows their hectic and privileged lifestyles.
The pair have their own band, called Fran and Josh, and feature regularly in the programme.
Josh, who is originally from Malpas and attended Bishop Heber High School, now lives in Chester and studies in the sixth form at Queens Park High.
Fran used to attend Queens Park High but now studies music at college.
The observational documentary follows the lives and loves of 10 glamorous teens living in the lap of luxury in Alderley Edge. Josh’s girlfriend, who was originally approached to go on the programme, enabled the Chester pair to get in front of the cameras.
He said: “We went to a couple of auditions and they found out a little bit about me and my band and about our relationship, and then invited us on the programme.”
The cameras had unlimited access to follow the group, unearthing exactly what the rich kids are up to.
Josh said: “None of it is scripted, but often we are given pointers about what to talk about. We are asked to discuss stuff that is going on in our lives or our relationships. Then they just film hours and hours of footage.
“It often means, though, when it is edited they pick out certain conversations or highlight things. So issues that do not seem quite so important to us are made into a big thing.
“It’s very strange being on television, and my friends make fun of me for it, but it’s all good.”
Living on the Edge is on Sundays at 8.30pm on MTV.
