A TV company has enlisted the help of a wedding expert to find them a bride and groom with a tale to tell.
Leanne Bowles, who runs wedding fair company Flaunt Events from her Hawarden home, was shocked to get a call from ITV last week.
Producers approached her to help them get their new Four Weddings programme off the ground.
The team spotted Leanne’s website and decided to enlist her expert knowledge of the wedding industry to find them suitable candidates for the show.
Four Weddings will follow four couples as they get hitched and see them awarded points for aspects of their big day.
Leanne, mum to two-and-a-half-year-old Poppy and Henry, nine, said: “It came really out of the blue.
“They are looking for couples planning a wedding that’s a bit different or who have a special story. It may be a civil ceremony or an all-singing all-dancing big wedding. They don’t need to have a large budget.”
The chosen couples will take their vows between spring and autumn 2009.
Leanne, who began her career as a wedding photographer, formed Flaunt Events after she noticed many small companies in the area couldn’t afford to take part in large wedding fairs.
She said: “Many of the smaller companies struggle to compete, especially with the credit crunch. We have some excellent venues and facilities in this area and our wedding fairs give them a platform.
“The programme will also be a good opportunity for our local businesses to show what they have to offer.”
Leanne is up against the clock to find her perfect couple, so she has decided to try and scout them out at her next two wedding fairs at Llyndir Hall, Rossett, this Sunday and at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa on Sunday, November 23, both from noon-5pm.
