TUSHINGHAM Primary’s school council held a sponsored jog around the playing field to raise money for Christian Aid.
The whole school took part, from nursery youngsters to Year 6 pupils, and even the staff did a few laps.
Tavis Shore, a member of the school council, said: “I ran 18 laps and really enjoyed it, although I had a stitch by the end.
“I think the school should do it next year as well because it’s good fun but it’s also good exercise.”
Headteacher Mrs Dunne said: “We were really lucky because the weather was lovely. I did four laps and thought that was good.
“Overall the event was a good success and hopefully we will do the same next year. I also reckon we raised quite a lot of money.”
Mrs Dunne said the Press release about the sponsored jog had been written by Year 6 pupils Phoebe and Charlotte and the staff were very proud of them.
The school has just had a £10,000 play area installed, following an Awards for All Lottery grant.
