CROWDS gathered as three men were arrested in Chester city centre. Cheshire Police had been alerted by members of the public complaining about their behaviour.

Two of the men were restrained on the corner of Eastgate Street and St John Street on Wednesday at 5.45pm.

Police confirmed that a 19-year-old male from Deeside was arrested for alleged public order offences and the alleged theft of two candles. He has been released on bail and is due to return to Blacon Police Station on August 24.

A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Chester, were arrested for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.
