The family of a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision last week have released a heartfelt tribute to 'a truly special man'.

William (Billy) Flynn, 55, from Winsford, was killed on the evening of Tuesday, August 7, following a collision between his black and red Yamaha FZS and a grey Toyota Aygo on the B5074, Main Road, Worleston.

In a touching statement, the father-of-three’s family said: “Words cannot express the loss that the family are feeling since the news that Billy had been taken from us far too early following the tragic accident last week.

"Billy leaves behind Lisa, Craig and Dan as well as eight grandchildren and they will miss him being in their lives as they continue to grow up.

“Billy was loved so much by everyone who knew him and the messages that have flooded in since the news of his death has provided us with so much strength and support at such a tragic time.

"He was a true character and since the news of his death, family and friends have been able to remember so many stories which have made us laugh and cry but have always show what a kind, caring, funny and loving man Billy was.

“Whether that contact was during his time in army, whilst driving through work, taking his youngest son to football or following his lifelong passion for VW’s, he touched the hearts of everyone he came in to contact with. Billy was a truly special man."

The statement went on to add: “Billy was a Winsford man through and through and his funeral will undoubtedly show how much he was loved and will help us all to celebrate his life.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash and anyone with information in relation to the incident, or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident, is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting IML 147766.
