An oil tanker driver who died following a crash in Ellesmere Port last week has been named as 40-year-old Stephen Crosbie-Fawcett.
Mr Crosbie-Fawcett, from Leigh in Greater Manchester, sustained serious injuries when his vehicle was involved in a collision with another oil tanker on Oil Sites Road on Thursday (October 6).
He was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital but sadly died.
His family have told of their heartbreak, in a statement released by Cheshire Constabulary .
“On Thursday, October 6, our lives were changed forever by the devastating incident that so cruelly took Stephen from us," they said.
“Words will never be able to express how much Stephen meant to each and every one of his family and friends and he will be so sadly missed by us all.
“Whilst we try and come to terms with what has happened we ask that our privacy is observed at this time."
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 420 of October 6, 2016.
