THE Cheshire Vintage Tractor and Engine Club’s annual Christmas road run took place on Saturday, December 27, starting off at The Fourways Inn, Delamere.
Drivers travelled from all over Cheshire, the Midlands and North Wales to join the run, with 131 tractors of all makes, colours, sizes and conditions setting off at 9.30am along the lanes of Cheshire towards Tarporley and Little Budworth.
The enthusiasts headed for Little Leigh and the Holly Bush pub, where more than 200 cold people were served a very welcome coffee and mince pie.
They then set off through Acton Bridge, Crowton and Norley, through Delamere Forest and finally back to the Fourways Inn, where the 212 taking part sat down to a three-course meal after the gruelling 22-mile trip.
“The day finally ended with a raffle,” said Judith Barnes, one of the organisers.
“Club members and friends had generously donated 34 raffle prizes, raising £360 for a Cheshire children’s charity yet to be decided by the committee.”
