CHESTER and Cheshire based butchers are invited to take part in The Chester Food & Drink Festival 2008 Sausage Competition.
The preliminary round of tasting to decide the best banger will be on January 31.
Stephen Wundke, chairman of the festival, said: “The judges will be looking for sausages that stand out from the crowd.”
The top sausages will go into the final competition held during the festival, which takes place at Chester Racecourse from March 22-24, Easter Saturday to Easter Monday.
Last year’s winner of Chester and Cheshire’s Best Sausage was David Joinson’s pork and leek sausage, normally on show at Chester Market.
