A PLAYGROUND has been By hanced thanks to hard work from mums and a £5,000 grant.

The area at Tattenhall Park Primary School was already a comprehensive activity centre but did not have facilities for very young children.

Now, after campaigning from parents and the parish council, a £5,000 Awards For All Grant has helped add extra equipment.

Mum of two Kirsty Williams, from Tattenhall, said: 'The existing playground was fabulous but about two years ago I noticed my baby had no where to play.

'I told Grace Jackson at the parish council and she worked so hard to get the grant.

'It is wonderful to see that where there is a niche for something you can achieve things.

'Now my youngest child can enjoy the playground as well as my oldest.'

The playground received the Awards for All grant six months ago and work started immediately to construct the equipment.

Children under four have been playing on the slide, climbing wall and other equipment for three weeks since safe flooring was put in place.

The £950 needed for this was granted by the area committee.

Cllr Jackson said:'I am so glad it has all finally come together but the mums did all the hard work.I hope they are pleased with the result.'
