Chester toddler Erin Cross has been honoured with an award for her bravery during her battle with leukeamia.

The four-year-old from Upton, who was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia when she was just two years old, received an accolade from The Joshua Tree Children’s Charity for the positivity she has shown throughout her gruelling cancer treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

The Northwich-based charity supports Cheshire families who have a child with cancer through counselling, practical and therapeutic help to ensure life remains as normal as possible for parents and children.

Erin was presented with her ‘Star’ award at the ceremony at Nunsmere Hall, by Mark Radcliffe from Radio 2, who is a patron of the charity.

Erin’s mum Sarah said: “It was a lovely family event and it was great to meet all the other families and everyone involved in the charity. Erin was given the award for being so brave and positive during treatment and also for all the work she has done for Alder Hey.

“Oli the Alder Hey mascot was also at the event and the children loved having their photo taken with him,” she added.”
