Members of a community theatre company brewed up support for a national cancer charity when they held a tea party in Chester city centre.

Tip Top Productions, based at The Forum Studio Theatre in Chester held a Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and raised £403 from the sale of teas, coffees and homemade cakes made by members of the volunteer run theatre company.

Local Marie Curie fundraiser Pippa Harris of Upton, Chester said: “We are delighted that Tip Top  chose to host a blooming great tea party at the theatre, there was a lovely atmosphere and everybody worked so hard to make the event a success, the money raised will go towards funding the vital work of Marie Curie nurses in the UK.”

During the event, members of the public were able to have a look behind the scenes at the studio theatre, talk to some of Tip Top’s members and find out all about their new season of plays.

Organiser Sally Dillon said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the event on the day, from our own members to members of the general public who came to enjoy a cuppa and a cake for this very worthy cause.”
