A crash near the A483 in Marlston-cum-Lache has seen three people injured.

The accident involving two saloon cars was reported on Roughlyn Crescent approaching the Rough Hill Roundabout at 3.50pm on Friday (January 8).

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One female casualty has been rescued from a vehicle by fire crews and is now in the care of paramedics along with two other people."

Two fire engines are at the scene and Cheshire Police have advised motorists to find another route.

Congestion which had built up eastbound on the M56 ahead of the Friday rush hour is now easing.
