Three men arrested on suspicion of starting a fire in a Saltney pub have been released on bail.

Enquiries are ongoing after firefighters were called to the blaze at the Corner Pin on Saltney High Street yesterday morning (Wednesday, July 5).

The fire broke out just before 6.20am and closed the road for more than an hour.

Today, North Wales Police confirmed the three men are no longer in custody.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Three men arrested yesterday on suspicion of arson have been released under investigation.”

Two fire engines from Deeside and Chester attended the blaze.

Crews declared the site safe at 7.15am.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed they were aware of the incident but that nobody was injured.
