THREE men who allegedly stole £25,000 in jewellery and hundreds of pounds of cash from rugby club boss Steve O’Connor have been arrested.
The Prescot men, aged 26, 25 and 22, were granted bail until Tuesday, May 26.
Cheshire Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “Police are looking for a fourth person believed to be involved in this incident.”
A knife-wielding gang, also carrying crowbars and who claimed to have guns, held Widnes Vikings chairman Steve O’Connor and his family hostage before escaping his Frodsham mansion.
Last week the club boss praised his cool-headed wife, Clare, for keeping their young son, Stevie, calm during their ordeal.
He said thugs dragged the youngster out of bed and bound them all before ransacking the home the family has lived in for 15 years.
Mr O’Connor, who runs a haulage company, added: “These were genuine terrorists but also cowards.
“My wife showed the presence of mind to tell him it was all just a game we were involved in.
“It’s easy to be hard using weapons, and to involve my little boy was callous and unacceptable. ”
“The stolen items had sentimental value, but at one point I didn’t think we were going to get out alive.”
Police are calling on anyone with information or who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area to call 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
