A FILM starring actor and comedian Paul Kaye and shot in Frodsham is taking the internet by storm.

The “viral”, which has been viewed by more than 50,000 people, shows “Dennis Pennis” star Kaye as rogue trader Seamus Murphy advertising an airport car park and was filmed off Mill Lane, Frodsham.

Kate Towey, of Manchester-based marketing company Flame Digital, who produced the video, said: “We shot it in Frodsham after the location was sourced by our production team. The shoot was one day long and the crew was about 30 strong. We had to hire the set, things like a dilapidated caravan and two donkeys, that had quite a few local people walking and driving past looking bemused. The viral was released last week and has already had a massive amount of views and is quickly becoming a real internet sensation.”

The 90 second video was produced for travel firm Holiday Extras who provide hotel and holiday parking for more than 5.4 million people across the UK each year.

They also offer a wide choice of holiday add-ons including airport lounges, airports by rail, London theatre breaks, UK theme park breaks, and travel insurance.

Matthew Pack of Holiday Extras said: “With this viral we wanted to show viewers the opposite end of the scale to the Holiday Extras offering. Where we offer quality and personal service, we wanted to contrast that with disorder and rudeness. Getting Paul Kaye on board was a real coup and we are anticipating that the results will generate widespread views and debate.”

Visitors to the Holiday Extras site can also win props from the set and will soon be able to see outtakes and enjoy other Seamus Murphy related goodies.
