A GRANDFATHER who was inspired to write down the bedtime stories he told his grandchildren was signing copies of his latest book at a Christmas fair.

Thomas Carroll, aged 87 of Kelsall was chatting to visitors and reading from his latest Christmas themed book Somebody’s Kidnapped Santa at the Ash- worth Time Bank Christmas fair .

The former RAF serviceman said his latest childrens book is full of humour, adventure and Christmas spirit.

He said: “ I am sure children will enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.”

The novel complete with Christmas pictures can be bought from Amazon.

Mr Carroll has also written the Ponyteer trilogy for children, The witches revenge,The angry witch and Witches on the run and for adults Smoke, magic and dust.
