A 26-YEAR-OLD man has pleaded guilty to burgling a home in Farndon after the highest spate of break-ins in the village in years.

Mark Lynch, from Holt, admitted breaking into a house on Churton Road, Farndon, in November when he appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court last Wednesday (January 23).

His arrest comes after police stepped up patrols across the village after 10 homes were burgled in just three months, seeing hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery and cash taken.

The latest burglary happened at a house on Church Lane in the village two weeks ago.

Police have described the burglaries as the highest spate of crime the community has seen in years, with attempted break-ins leaving doors and windows damaged across the area.

Over the past month homes were targeted in Dee Crescent, Speedway, Church Lane, Peckforton Road in Beeston and Pear Tree Close in Frodsham.

Lynch is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on February 21 for sentencing.
