A 21-YEAR-old man has been arrested and a 19-year-old man released after an attack on a young mum and her baby.

The attack happened at 6.55pm on Wednesday, July 23 when 18-year-old Lauri Steel and her one-year-old daughter Toni-Lea were walking along Eaton Road, Tarporley.

A man cut the woman with a knife leaving a small wound and slashed at the baby’s arm leaving a two-inch long mark before making off down Eaton Road.

A 19-year-old was arrested on Thursday, July 24 but later released without charge.

Cheshire Police spokesman Dave Murray said: “A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit assault and on suspicion of harassment.”
