Arrests have been made after an arson attack damaged a one million pound youth centre in Little Neston.

Three teens aged, 14, 15 and 18, all from the area, have been arrested after the roof and exterior of the popular New Youth Centre, Burton Road, Little Neston – which last month celebrated it’s first anniversary – were damaged at the popular site following the fire at 5.50am on Sunday, May 16.

Cheshire police spokeswoman Jacqui Hanson said: “Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue officers attended the scene, the fire was extinguished and the building vented of smoke. “However, the fire has left the roof and exterior of the building with serious damage.

“Enquiries suggest that the fire was as a result of a refuse bin located at the rear of the Youth Club being set alight.”

The youths have been bailed until July.

Police continue to investigate a number of similar incidents involving bin fires in the Neston area and anyone with any information is asked to ring 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
