A TEENAGER has been electronically tagged after pleading guilty to three counts of theft and deception.

Gary Smallwood, of Roydes Close, Hartford, stole his brother's credit card and used it in shops and garages across Northwich.

Smallwood, 19, stole the Capital One credit card from his brother, of the same address, on October 27.

He then used the card and signed his brother's name at G & B Accessories, buying goods to a value of £109.97.

His crime spree continued as he went into The Village Store in Hartford and spent £11.57, another £20.01 went on fuel and he used the card again at the One Stop shop on Chester Road to buy £23 worth of goods.

He has since paid his brother back and attended at Northwich police station where he admitted the charges.

Defending solicitor Henry Hills said Smallwood was on the right track and was working to sort out his finances.

Mr Hills explained that his client had arranged help from the debt service at Northwich Citizens Advice Bureau and was paying his wages into his mother's bank account.

Magistrates ordered Smallwood to pay £100 for each deception charge and £20 costs. He will also be subject to a curfew order between 7pm and 7am.
