Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old man was assaulted in Chester city centre during the early hours of Saturday morning (August 2).

The incident occurred in Phoenix on Watergate Street at 2.30am.

The victim suffered facial injuries which required treatment at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 18 and 20, 6' 3" tall and of large build.

He has curly, ginger hair and he was wearing a checked shirt.
