A TEENAGE beauty queen hoping to book her place in the Miss England finals needs a sponsor so she can strut her stuff this summer.
Heather Elrick-Tobin, 18, of Upton Park, Upton, is a former Queen’s School pupil who has swapped her textbooks for the catwalk.
She said: “I’ve entered a few pageants and I’ve always wanted to enter Miss England, that’s the big one. The sponsorship is £200 for Miss ModelZed and it pays to get into the competition and pays for the whole weekend for Miss England.”
To take part in Miss England, Heather has to win a qualifying heat such as Miss ModelZed 2008 in Leicester this summer but needs a company or business to sponsor her in it.
Last month, Heather won the Chester heat of Miss Teen Beauty Queen and she has finished 11th at Miss British Isles.
She said: “I was at the Queen’s School doing A-levels but I didn’t finish them. I was doing all sciences and I wanted to get into fashion, follow a different path.
“We get judged throughout the day, like on how friendly you are with the other girls so sometimes you do get girls who are fake. And there’s different rounds, evening wear, outrageous club wear and sports wear.”
Heather is studying an NVQ in beauty at West Cheshire College and extra courses in hair and make up and is waiting to hear from several universities.
She added: “In the future I would like to work on London Fashion Week, I like the really outrageous make up.”
Sponsors in the Miss ModelZed will have their company name and logo at www.modelzed.co.uk and a link from the official Miss England website, two tickets to the live grand final in Leicester and photos in the competition program.
