A TEENAGER is fighting for life after being stabbed in a frenzied attack on a night out in Runcorn on Monday.
The 17-year-old from Runcorn was outside Sammy's Pizza and Kebab House in Church Street just before 10pm when he was attacked and injured with a sharp object, leaving him critically injured.
His assailant fled the scene leaving the youngster close to death. He managed to drag himself into the take-away, where he called to horrified staff to telephone paramedics before slumping to the floor.
He was taken to Warrington General Hospital, where he was seriously ill in intensive care.
An employee at Sammy's said: 'I didn't really see what happened, but the boy who was stabbed came into the shop and asked us to call an ambulance, then he collapsed on the floor.
'He was bleeding. It was quite frightening'.
Police are unclear about the events leading up to the vicious attack, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information which can shed light on the motive behind it.
Anyone with information is urged to call Runcorn CID on 01244 613933, or call Crimestoppers in complete confidence on 0800 555 111.
