Atechnical student with a prodigious memory has come forward to name every classmate featured in a photograph taken at Chester City Grammar School in 1957.
Last week, Colin Hymes submitted a photograph in the hope that some old school friends from Form 14 may recognise their own faces or those of former classmates.
And Chronicle reader Eric Price spotted himself among the 16-year-old pupils.
Now Mr Price, 67, of Lache Park Avenue, was able to name every student in the picture.
They are, top row (left to right): Roger King, Mike Murphy, Barry Harling, Jimmy Chadwick, Les McFall, Peter Llewelyn Jones, John Lewis; middle row: Freddy Woolnough, Euan Hymes, Tony Mallard, Colin Harding, D R Wright, Dave Stockton, Mike Robinson, Johnny Youde, Eric Price, Jeff Powell, Steven Latham; front row: Beverly Kilfoyle, Colin Kelsall, Edwin Jeffs, Ryan Parr, Tony Gulliver, teacher Harry Hume, Eric Manley, Peter Howell Jones, Reg Thomas, Bob Smith, N Nixon.
Mr Price, a former Cheshire County Council worker, said: “There are a couple of lads who aren’t on there who I would’ve expected to be on there – Jeff Jemmings and a lad called Roberts.
“I’ve lost touch but I see a few of them around Chester.”
Michael Robinson, of Vicars Cross, also recognised himself and colleagues in the photograph.
He said: “I have a large copy of the picture at home and I recognised quite a lot of them.”
Mr Robinson, who went on to work in the building trade, praised the school which gave the technical students a good grounding for a vocational career.
