A VET working for the Government says TB is on the rise in Cheshire.
Helen May, of the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) which is part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, inspected Kelsall farmer Phil Latham’s infected livestock in Nantwich.
She said when she first started working for the agency only a small part of her two-day workload involved working with TB – now that is all she deals with. “Yes, TB is spreading in Cheshire,” said Mrs May.
“Noticeably in the last couple of years we have started to see cases in completely new areas of Cheshire that have not previously had TB.”
