A LATE night accident left a 31-year-old man hospitalised with serious head injuries after he was hit by a taxi on Friday night.

The Chester man, who remains in a stable condition at the Countess of Chester hospital, was knocked over by a taxi at about 10.40pm on Friday, November 27, on Hoole Road, near to Vicarage Road.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “The collision involved a blue Vauxhall Vectra taxi driven by a 37-year-old male from the Chester area and a 31-year-old male, also from Chester.

“The vehicle was travelling from Hoole roundabout towards Chester city centre, as a result the pedestrian suffered serious head injuries as was conveyed to the Countess of Chester hospital.

“The driver and its two passengers were uninjured.”
