A VILLAGE pub has re-opened its doors after a refurbishment.
The Sportsmans Arms in Burwardsley will be the second pub run by licensees Ian and Tracey Williams, who already own The Bickerton Poacher in Bulkeley.
They have transformed the premises into a cosy, traditional establishment that offers locally sourced, home-cooked pub grub and a large range of quality cask ales.
The pub, primarily owned by Blackburn-based brewery Thwaites, will be managed day-to-day by chef Andrew Parry and his partner Emma Hopwood, who have experience in working in hospitality in the UK and abroad.
Ian said: “We’re delighted to have the backing of Thwaites to restore the Sportmans Arms to a traditional village pub.
“Andy and Emma are hardworking and passionate people and have the talent to make the pub a huge success.
“They’re focused on offering locally sourced, top-quality dishes and fine cask ales.”
