Tattenhall's renowned ice cream farm will be one of many businesses throughout the UK holding a pancake party in support of the Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA).

The Great Pancake Party, which runs from March 1-8, is the brainchild of Lynn Hedgecoe, a cardiomyopathy sufferer who set up the event as a fun and simple way to help support the charity which has given her support over the past few years.

On March 1, Cheshire Farm Ice Cream will host the party, which will feature a host of exciting activities, including a ‘Pancake Olympics’ and a ‘Largest Pancake Tossing Relay’.

All proceeds will go the Cardiomyopathy Association, which provides information and support to families affected by the heart muscle disease.

Jonathan Fell, director of the ice cream farm, said: “Lynn is a personal friend of mine and I have watched the courageous and awe-inspiring way that she has dealt with her illness over the last few years. “Holding an event that we believe to be a fantastic idea is the least that we can do to support this exceptional cause.

“We hope to see as many people as possible at the farm on March 1 as well as doing our bit to encourage people to hold their own Great Pancake Party at home.”

Lynn added: “A pancake party is a really fun way for people to support the work of the CMA.

“With hundreds of Great Pancake Parties up and down the country, we can do some really great things. I am blown away by the support that people are showing and the Ice Cream Farm themselves are going above and beyond my expectations. I am really looking forward to getting involved on the day and hope that as many people as possible can join us - more specifically to help out with the World Record attempt!”
