nIndependent wine merchant Corks Out, of Chester, is one of the highlights of the Taste Cheshire Food Trail.

Staff member Tom Scargill gave details of which tipples proved popular with the pubic.

He said: “This has been a wine shop for 130 years. A family held it for 125 years and it was passed to us five years ago.

“One of our most popular brands has been Eastgate Ale. It was made to commemorate the centenary of the Eastgate Clock, but it still sells so well several years on.

“We get three or four tour guides coming through this shop daily, and they tend to be most interested in that.”
