A VISION for the improvement and development of Tarvin has been unveiled.

The Tarvin Parish Plan (TPP) was published last week and details the views and hopes of residents as well as an action plan to improve village life.

The parish, which has a population of more than 2,690, includes not only Tarvin but Oscroft, Stapleford, Duddon Heath and Tarvin Sands.

The TPP was produced voluntarily by Tarvin Parish Plan Steering Group which was formed in 2009.

It includes a survey of 30% of households in the parish after 1,200 questionnaires were delivered in July 2010.

A total of 357 questionnaires were completed gathering views and suggestions on a wide range of issues including transport, parking and the environment.

The TPP also includes a separate section for young people under 19, a survey of businesses, and views expressed by residents at public meetings and Tarvin Christmas Fair.

Tarvin Primary School also conducted a survey of its 193 pupils in November 2010.

Parish Plan Implementation Groups will now be put in place to start the improvement process and make changes based on the wishes of the community.

Phillip Miles, chairman of Tarvin Parish Plan steering group, said: “I sincerely thank all the past and present members of the steering group, the various working groups, and all the other volunteers for their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm.

“I would also like to thank all the householders who took the time and effort to return their questionnaires and for their comments.”
