DEVELOPERS have invited parish councillors to come up with suggestions for information that should be included on supermarket signage in Tarvin.

The new development, which will see a Co-operative store built on land at the back of 63 High Street, was approved last month.

At Monday’s parish council meeting, Cllr Roger Hones presented a series of ideas for the three signs that developers want to create. They included directions to the shops in High Street, advertising car parking until 10.30pm and the availability of a 24-hour cash machine.

Developers want to have a sign on the A54, on the supermarket site and in High Street.

Chairman David Cotgreave raised concerns about advertising the 24-hour cash machine as it could attract thieves to the site.

Cllr Ted Lush said any sign on High Street should be ‘upkeeping with the conservation area’.

Members agreed to forward all of Cllr Hones’ suggestions to the developers.

The supermarket development, which includes 28 parking spaces and a pedestrian and cycle path link to High Street, will also see vacant office space based at 63 High Street converted into three homes.
