A MUCH-LOVED Tarporley nurse is retiring after 23 years at the village surgery.

Jane Caine, senior district nursing sister at the Dr Campbells & Partners Surgery, will leave the practice later this month after years of treating patients living in Tarporley.

Jane has practiced as a nurse for 40 years, first training at the Royal Liverpool Hospital before working in Liverpool as a District Nurse.

A leaving party will be held for her by her colleagues at the Tarporley surgery on December 14.

Jane’s husband Adrian said: “Over the years a lot of people in the community have got to know Jane through her patient visits and when she walks down the high street she is always spoken to in a very appreciative manner for her dealing with health situations.

“Often some people have difficulty recognising Jane out of her nurse’s uniform though!

“Jane has supported generations of families as individuals grow up and unfortunately pass on and on an annual basis she has organised blood pressure days on the high street which have been overseen by the Rotary Club,” he added.
