A TARPORLEY man ditched the ‘Cheshire set’ in search of a ‘real life’ in Spain has now written a romance novel charting his journey.
Having lost every possession in an acrimonious divorce, Jack George Edmunson, 56, spent his last remaining cash pursuing his dream of becoming a published author.
Jack who has lived near Tarporley for the past 14 years published his first novel The Sun Sharer.
Jack said: “I was driven to writing the book.” which he says has received national media attention.
In 2004 Jack said he was working long weeks in a stressful, but well paid job as a Logistics Consultant.
At the age of 50 Jack said his life revolved around hard work and 'Cheshire set' dinner parties where he would be surrounded by ‘superficial’ people.
Jack said after being unhappy for some time he visited a clairvoyant and an astrologer, both of whom separately told him to pursue a simple life by the sea.
He took their advice and bought himself a holiday home in Catalonia, Spain in search of a more real existence.
Jack said it was this Spanish adventure that made him realise just how shallow his previous life had become.
After undergoing a divorce Jack decided to live the simple life in a caravan and it will be from this caravan that he will tour across the length and breadth of the UK promoting The Sun Sharer before heading back home to Catalonia.
Jack said of the book: “It tells an intriguing yet tragic story questioning the meaning of love whether in a marriage or in an affair.
In contrast to other books of its genre The Sun Sharer is a black alternative to most romances and contains a spiritual twist.”
The Sun Sharer is available from Waterstones, Amazon, WH Smith and other book stores.
