THE audience can enjoy a grand day out at Tarporley Dramatic Society’s latest production this weekend.

The group is putting on a performance of Willy Russell’s Our Day Out which the society says is ‘sad, funny and humorous’.

Tom Kenny of the society said: “This original stage and TV play tells the story of a group of underprivileged schoolchildren taken for a day out.

“They visit a roadside cafe, Conwy Castle, the zoo and the beach, bringing boisterous chaos to each of them.”

He added: “The play reflects the joys and agonies of growing up and being free from school.”

The cast comprises local children supported by a small team of Society adults, which include Linda Bennett, Tom Kenny, Graham Lees, Peter Smith and Naomi Kelly.

The production runs from today (Thursday) to Saturday at Tarporley Community Centre, on High Street. The play begins at 7.45pm.

Tickets range from £4-£6 and can be bought from Swaffields, High St Tarporley or by calling 01829 732646.

All productions have a licensed bar and there is free car parking behind the community centre.
