THE first 30 new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are starting their training with Cheshire Police.

There are 80 PCSOs working with the force, set to rise to 240 by April next year.

The 30 new recruits will be based throughout the county and in Halton and Warrington.

Working alongside their police officer colleagues, PCSOs' primary role is to develop positive relationships with local people.
